About ByteCut
What is ByteCut?
ByteCut is a browser-based asset preparation tool for images. It helps you clean up a source image, fit it to practical sizes, and export files that are ready for websites, apps, menus, and digital products. All processing runs locally on your device — no files are uploaded to any server.
Two tools, one workflow
Remove Background
Upload a PNG, JPG, or WebP image. ByteCut removes the background, fits the result to a practical preset, and exports a transparent asset for menus, listings, thumbnails, and UI.
WebP Optimizer
Resize, compress, and convert images to optimized WebP files. Use the existing presets to normalize dimensions and keep exports ready for web and app use.
Why browser-side?
Your images stay on your device. No uploads, no accounts, no data stored. The processing model downloads once and caches in your browser for return visits. ByteCut is designed as a small utility for everyday image preparation rather than a storage service.
Who ByteCut is for
ByteCut is for people who need small production-ready image assets without opening a full design suite: independent makers, restaurant operators, app builders, designers, and anyone preparing images for websites or product screens.
What happens to your files
Images are read by your browser, processed locally, and exported as new files. ByteCut does not create accounts, galleries, cloud libraries, or server-side copies of the images you process.
Current limitations
- Results depend on the original image quality, subject contrast, and browser memory.
- Fine hair, transparent glass, heavy shadows, and low-contrast edges should be reviewed before publishing.
- AI cleanup may need a first-time model download; the quick cleanup path remains available for simple bright backgrounds.
