Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026

The images you process in the ByteCut editor never leave your device. The website itself, however, uses Google Analytics and Google AdSense, and those third-party services set cookies. This page explains exactly what is handled where.

We do not collect your images

ByteCut does not upload or store the images you process in the editor. Source files, previews, masks, and exports are all handled inside your browser, and no copy of them reaches a ByteCut server.

Local processing

All models and image processing run locally in your browser. Your images never leave your device. The AI cleanup model is downloaded once from our model CDN and cached in your browser so later sessions do not download it again.

Image files and exports

Source files, previews, masks, and exports are handled in the browser session. Downloads are created on your device, and clearing browser data can remove cached model files or temporary local state.

Cookies and similar technologies

ByteCut does not set its own login or account-tracking cookies, because the editor works without an account. The website does load Google Analytics and Google AdSense, and those third-party services use cookies or similar technologies to measure visits and serve ads. Separately, the editor stores the AI cleanup model in your browser's IndexedDB. That local storage exists only to avoid re-downloading a large file and is not used to identify or track you.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

ByteCut uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and whether the product is working correctly. It may record the page address, referring link, approximate region, and browser or device type. Analytics events never include the image files you process or their file names.

Advertising and third-party cookies (Google AdSense)

ByteCut uses Google AdSense to fund the free tools. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to ByteCut and other sites on the internet. Advertising partners never receive the images you process in ByteCut.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:

No account required

ByteCut requires no sign-up, login, or account creation. You can use the tool immediately without providing any personal information.

Your choices

You can use ByteCut without an account. You can also block cookies or third-party scripts in your browser: advertising and analytics then stop, while background removal and WebP optimization keep working, since they run entirely on your device.
