It is tempting to assume the AI path is always better. In practice it is not. Where AI retry actually helps

Dense texture is where AI gets worse, not better

Why does the inside of a handle stay filled in?
An enclosed bright area is ambiguous: it can be background showing through a handle, or it can be a highlight on the subject. Quick cleanup is deliberately cautious there so it does not punch holes in pale food surfaces. If a real opening stays filled, AI retry is the path that resolves it.
The subject looks see-through in places. What went wrong?
Pale interior surfaces close in colour to the background can end up partly transparent rather than fully removed or fully kept. Lower the sensitivity so cleanup is less aggressive, then re-check the same area against the checkerboard preview.
Can I keep the drop shadow from the original image?
Usually not. A shadow is part of the background it falls on, so removing that background removes the shadow with it. If the shadow is important to the look, keep the full scene image and optimize it instead of cutting the subject out.
Which output format should I pick?
